SOL VIDA is a for-profit, fiscally sponsored dance organization leading a global movement for embodied healing justice, rooted in Denver, Colorado and The Greater San Francisco Bay Area.We empower individuals and communities through transformative dance, wellness, and performance art experiences. SOL VIDA programs catalyze personal transformation and collective liberation through interdisciplinary workshops, artistic leadership training, embodied rites of passage, nature immersions, choreography, consultation, and customizable immersive experiences that uplift the art, culture, and history of Diasporic dance, embodiment, and movement.

April (Axé) Charmaine
April (Axé) Charmaine is an artivist dedicated to embodied healing justice. They lead transformative workshops online and across the globe. Axé is an award-winning holistic performing arts educator, choreographer, director, producer and embodiment guide. They are dedicated to inspiring others to radical personal freedom, pioneering progressive movement communities, and creating safer, inclusive spaces for authentic expression, body reclamation, and collective healing.
As an award-winning artist and educator, Axé has led workshops, retreats, and dance programs around the world. Their work centers and uplifts those who identify as women, BIPOC, LGBTQ, elders, and young adults.
Founder of SOL VIDA, a movement methodology and global community fusing Afro, Modern, Hip Hop, and Conscious Dance, Axé has created a space for liberation, body reclamation, and healthy sensuality. With over 22 years of experience as a dance and theatre educator, Axé has worked with prestigious organizations like the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Colorado Ballet, Destiny Arts, Ecstatic Dance LA/NY/Guatemala and Aurora Fox Theatre!

Homemaker, DJ, Guide & Technical Creative. I love supporting artists & visionaries, like Axé, my 'bro-bro' and Sol Vida, in grounding, manifesting & generating ideas and projects through a lens of initiation. Marking significant events in our lives with play & ritual. As a Baby Elder Queer I look forward to my next chapter in life; parenting with my spouse! And continuing to engage with my queer & trans community in creating safe sanctuary with beloveds.

Sophie Hernandez
Advisory Council
Sophie's expertise is mainly in digital and traditional arts, social media promotion, and flexible creative roles within nonprofit communities. She is working as an artist to create healing within communities that need it now more than ever using creative/artistic skills and endeavors.
She is interested in SOL VIDA because of the holistic care aspect of the community. She is 100% on board with using creative and expressive body movements as a way of healing those who need to be healed or who need creative physical expression.

My name is Yaisa and I have a passion for people. I love to do my part in helping people feel empowered to transform their own lives. I love to dance, try new things and go on random adventures but I can also be a bit of a homebody that enjoys simple nights in with smooth jazz and a journal or a good book.

Advisory Council
Haley is a Council Member at SOL VIDA who deeply values embodiment and community. With expertise in movement, design, and innovation, she bridges creative expression and technical expertise. Haley is passionate about SOL VIDA’s mission to create inclusive spaces for authentic expression, connection, and transformation. She loves contributing to the organization’s tech needs and supporting the creation of new offerings.

Rachael K Sharp
Advisory Council
Rachel is dedicated to social and racial justice, and passionate about community-based creativity, healing and transformation. As a co-founder of the grassroots nonprofit, Creative Strategies for Change, she has served in roles, specializing in collaborative program and curriculum design, integrating applied theatre, popular education and restorative practices. She also contributed to the publication How to Become an Anti-Racist Organization, served on the Colorado Health Foundation Equity and Justice Advisory Committee.
