A Community Care Dance Activation
- Experience thoughtfully curated movement practices, tools, experiences, questions, discussions and explorations.
- Co-create powerful performance art and dance affirmations which will be filmed and produced into an offering to reinforce our shared purpose, passion, and determination to do our work for collective liberation in the world.
- We will create a site specific performance ritual offering that will be shared with the broader community as we seek to practice right relationship with ourselves, each other, and the planet.
- Reinvigorate vitality, creativity, and release mental blocks.
Artistic Leadership Development
The Embodied Revolution (The ER) combines elements of healing arts circles, ChoreoPoems, and site-specific Performance Art Rituals to provide an immersive and transformative journey. The ER will offer you the chance to fill your well, allow body release and create group solidarity exploring topical themes and continuously explore the question, "How do we stay well while shifting normalcy?"
Movement Tools
These nature-based experiences utilize SOL VIDA™️ Movement Methodology which fuses the form and freedom of Afro, Modern, Hip Hop and Conscious Dance Forms with inspirations from the elements of nature, 5 Rhythms, Symbology of the Orixas, Laban Efforts in addition to Healing Arts Circles, Creative Writing, Choreopoems, Dance Affirmations, Spirit Connection and Performance Art.
In this space, we invite intersectional pathways to discover our commonalities, develop empathy, compassion and deeper vaults of genuine self-love. This is a space for all levels of movers, cultures, backgrounds, genders, body forms, identities and abilities.
Testimonials from past participants
-
Josué, The ER: Mexico City
"Thank you for reconnecting us to ourselves and the Earth." - Josué,
-
Haley, The ER: Berkeley
"I had been searching for a container exactly like this - somewhere where all are welcomed with whatever movement background we bring, where we're invited to move for ourselves and with each other, where we can collaborate and create from a deep authentic place to bring a concrete and soulful offering to fruition. … I felt a deep sense of connection both to myself and to those I was moving and exploring with in this container. There was no sense of hierarchy which was so refreshing and unique in a setting like this."
-
Xamada, The ER: Hybrid Immersion
"The Embodied Revolution brought me deeper into my core, deeper into my dance and closer to both kin in movement and the spirit that moves all life. I am so grateful I signed up and working with Axé is a true joy and inspiration."
-
Infinity, The ER: Santa Cruz
"Loved being out with the land dancing our prayers together. Loved the prompts and heart circles. Felt very comfortable to just be as I was."
